About this song 🦆
Five little ducks went swimming one day, over the hills and far away! 🦆🎶
Count down with Plooshi in one of the most beloved counting songs for kids! "Five Little Ducks" follows five little ducklings who go swimming over the hills one by one, and each time Mother Duck says quack quack quack quack, one fewer comes back. But don't worry, the happy ending brings all five little ducks home!
This classic counting nursery rhyme is perfect for toddlers and preschoolers who are learning to count backwards from 5 to 0. The simple, repetitive structure and dramatic "but only __ came back" buildup keeps kids engaged and guessing. And the surprise happy ending where all the little ducks come back always gets a big cheer!
Perfect for preschool circle time, learning to count backwards, music class, storytime, and anytime your little one needs a fun counting song with a happy ending. Pair this with other Plooshi counting songs like Five Little Speckled Frogs, The Counting Song, Once I Caught a Fish Alive, and Alice the Camel for the ultimate kids counting playlist!
🎤 Five Little Ducks Lyrics
Five little ducks went swimming one day
Over the hills and far away
Mother duck said, “Quack, quack, quack, quack”
But only four little ducks came back
Four little ducks went swimming one day
Over the hills and far away
Mother duck said, “Quack, quack, quack, quack”
But only three little ducks came back
Three little ducks went swimming one day
Over the hills and far away
Mother duck said, “Quack, quack, quack, quack”
But only two little ducks came back
Two little ducks went swimming one day
Over the hills and far away
Mother duck said, “Quack, quack, quack, quack”
But only one little duck came back
One little duck went swimming one day
Over the hills and far away
Mother duck said, “Quack, quack, quack, quack”
But no little ducks came back
No little ducks went swimming one day
Over the hills and far away
Mother duck said, “Quack, quack, quack, quack”
And all the little ducks came back
And all the little ducks came back
